Spün 365 - Day 11: Making Mobile Development Easier
I spent today testing out an app called Mobile Harness.
Mobile Harness is a mobile workstation with built-in Claude Code, a Linux Terminal and a couple of other interesting features. Building projects is now much easier because you get a working preview section in every project, so you can preview your work in realtime.
It supports custom APIs so you can use any AI provider of your choice, even free ones, which is a killer feature.
I’m really glad I found it because I’m confined to a mobile device, and having one app that handles most of my workflows and is completely free is awesome. I no longer have to switch between multiple apps, browser tabs, terminals, just for one project.
It’s still new, so not all the features you’d expect are there, but it’s got the essentials and with time it’s going to get better.
You can check it out yourself here: Mobile Harness
The Custom Provider Problem
I spent the entire day trying over and over again to configure a custom provider.
It kept failing over and over again and I was so frustrated. Eventually, I found out the problem was actually from the code.
And the workaround was easy.
The problem is when setting your custom base URLs, they’re often:
/v1/...
For example:
https://api.b.ai/v1
The /v1 suffix is already hardcoded into the app, so instead the base URL is meant to be:
https://api.b.ai
It took me almost an hour to crack that one. 😭
But thanks to ChatGPT going through the app’s source code line by line, I was able to solve the problem.
Then I Found 9router
I also discovered 9router.
It’s kinda like a provider orchestration layer for coding agents.
Instead of having to deal with constantly hitting rate limits, you can connect as many providers as you want to 9router, then connect 9router to your coding agent.
It exposes all the available models from all the providers you connected, so you just pick a model and proceed as normal.
It’s also got a really nice Combo feature.
This feature allows you to pick as many AI models as you want, then put them in a combo.
9router exports this combo as a single model, so if you hit your quota limits for the first model, it automatically falls back to the next in line.
Your coding agent never has to worry about hitting rate limits. 🌚
With the Combo feature, you can create the perfect combo to code non-stop all day long using only free models, which will cost you nothing. 😌
There’s a YouTube tutorial for 9router if you want to see how it works.
There’s also a YouTube tutorial for Mobile Harness if you’re interested in checking that out.
Day 11
Today was one of my fun days as a developer.
I really enjoy discovering new tools like these to make my workflows as easy as possible. 🤝
Less switching between apps, fewer limitations, and more time actually building.
11 days down.
354 days remaining.
