Spün 365 - Day 13: Reworking Spün Auth

Day 13 was Sunday. As aforementioned, I don’t do much work on Sundays. Buh, I did do a couple of things today.

Today I did a full rework on Spün Auth’s code structure.

I made it a monorepo and built the API layer because I’ve been working on the UI way too much.

Cleaning Up the Old Repo

The original repo layout, which you can still find on my GitHub at @heisdanny64/auth, is basically a template repo from Lovable and Google’s AI Studio.

It contains a bunch of unnecessary scripts I definitely do not need, and I’m not a fan of leaving junk lying around, so I performed a full cleanup with Claude’s help.

Technically, I don’t have the time to go through each script one by one, so I had Claude do it, and that sped things up a whole lot faster.

I found a ton of stuff in the repo that was completely useless and had them removed.

I haven’t updated the repo just yet, so if you check it out, you’ll still see the old version there.

The API Layer

For the API layer, I created a couple of API endpoints that products would need when calling Spün Auth.

Remember when I posted about letting other developers use Spün Auth too?

I’ve also created endpoints for that.

There’s still no UI for it yet, though.

The updated monorepo looks something like this:

ui/ - the folder containing everything Frontend

api/ - the folder containing the API layer

Most API endpoints are currently protected by an Admin Key.

The GitHub repo will be updated soon enough, after I run some tests.

That’s a rundown on everything that went down today. 🤝

13 days down.

352 days remaining.
