Spün 365 - Day 25: Jasper's Red Team
Today I began extensive documentation for Jasper. And so far, it’s going smoothly, but that’s not the main point of this update.
Let’s talk about Strix.
Strix is an open source pentesting tool for AI agents. It basically gives AI agents the ability to hack the projects they build, just like a real hacker would, to find vulnerabilities and instantly write patches for them.
How does this relate to Jasper?
Strix inspires Jasper’s Red Team.
The Red Team
The Red Team consists of 10 specialist sub-agents with a single purpose: securing your project by actively testing it for vulnerabilities and finding their way into the weak spots of your application.
They hunt for things like data leaks, exposed secrets, injection vulnerabilities amongst other things 🌚. Their job is to find as many weak spots as possible.
And immediately anything compromising is discovered, the Red Team creates and applies the appropriate fix.
Why did I add this?
A typical AI agent builds your project and that’s where it ends. You still have to worry about securing your app yourself, which can be a lot more tasking than actually building it.
With the Red Team, you don’t have to worry about that.
The Red Team is deployed immediately after a major build is completed, so you don’t have to remember to prompt Jasper to do it manually.
And it isn’t just for people who let Jasper build everything.
For developers who prefer to code manually, the Red Team applies to you too.
Before committing or pushing your code, the Red Team can run in the background, analyze your project and alert you if they finds any vulnerabilities. They can then fix the issues before your project gets pushed.
The goal is simple: your project shouldn’t just work. It should also be checked for security issues before you push or deploy it.
Thanks to the Red Team, security becomes part of the development process instead of something you have to remember to do afterwards.
And that’s just one of Jasper’s many capabilities. 😌
