Spün 365 - Day 5: Finishing What I Started
(Sorry it’s late 🥲)
Day 5 was mostly about one thing: Spün Auth.
I’ve been working on it for a while now, and I want to get it finished as soon as possible. It’s an important piece of Spün’s ecosystem because as I build more products, I’ll need a way to handle user authentication without rebuilding the same system every time.
That’s what Spün Auth is for.
Getting closer
I’m currently polishing the UI.
The majority of the interface is already there, so I’m focusing on the little things now and making sure everything feels consistent and properly finished.
Functionally, though, things are looking pretty good.
All four authentication provider flows are working, and I’ve tested each of them successfully. The account creation and onboarding flows are also working nicely.
There’s still some work left, but I’m getting close.
Hopefully, I’ll be able to finish Spün Auth within the next day or two and move on to something else.
Clearing the backlog
That’s actually one of my current goals.
I have quite a few projects and ideas that I’ve started working on over time, and I’m trying to finish as many of the pending ones as possible.
I don’t want to constantly jump between half-finished projects.
I’d rather get these foundations out of the way, then put all my attention into something new.
And there’s one particular project I’ve had sitting in the idea phase for a while now.
I’m looking forward to finally getting to it.
Not every day is a big day
One thing I’m realizing while doing this challenge is that not every day is going to come with a huge update.
Some days will be new products. Some will be major milestones. Others will just be me spending several hours polishing something that nobody else will notice.
And that’s fine.
The point of 365 Days of Spün isn’t to make every day look impressive.
It’s to keep moving.
Every day is another step toward the goal, no matter how small that step might be.
What’s next?
Hopefully, finishing Spün Auth.
After that, I can move on to the next project and finally start bringing some of those ideas I’ve been sitting on to life.
I’ll also be starting to post on LinkedIn and Dev.to soon. I just need to get a couple of things set up first.
For now, though, there’s still work to do.
Day 5 complete.
360 days to go.
