Spün 365 - Day 7: One Week In

It’s been 7 days since I started Spün 365. 🥹

I’m genuinely happy about that because I’ve always had a problem with consistency.

Even when I’m coding, there comes a point where I lose motivation and stop for months, only to randomly come back one day like nothing happened. 🥲

I’ve had the same problem with learning too.

So getting to Day 7 might seem insignificant, but to me, it’s actually a pretty nice milestone.

I’m fixing that problem one step at a time.

The UI bug from hell

Unfortunately, today’s actual work was significantly less exciting.

I’m still working on Spün Auth, and I spent most of today fighting a really annoying UI bug.

For some completely unknown reason, black and white had decided to swap jobs. 🤦

Black was rendering as white in some parts of the interface, while white was rendering as black.

The Avatar Builder was even worse. Selecting black would either make it render as white or sometimes just… not render at all.

I had no idea what broke.

I even tried reverting to an earlier update where everything was working properly, thinking I could just start from there.

Nope.

The problem was still there. 😭

At that point I was just staring at my screen wondering what I had done to deserve this.

So I’m going to spend some more time investigating it and hopefully get it sorted out soon because I really want to finish polishing Spün Auth.

On the bright side…

There was no bright side to this. 😹

It’s just been a pain in my neck.

Getting Spün out there

I’ve also been thinking about expanding Spün’s presence beyond where I’m currently posting.

I already have accounts set up on other platforms, but now I’m stuck on the question:

“Where the hell do I start?”

I don’t really know what my first post should be, how I should introduce Spün, or how I should approach each platform.

I’m still figuring that part out.

The reason I want to start posting on more platforms isn’t just for the sake of posting.

I want to start increasing Spün’s reach before the full launch, while also giving search engines more context about what Spün actually is.

I’ve already gotten the site indexed on a couple of search engines, but indexing alone doesn’t magically tell them what Spün is.

The more legitimate information that exists around the brand, the easier it should be for search engines to understand and associate Spün with what I’m actually building.

So basically:

More reach + better context for search engines.

Killing two birds with one stone.

Anyway, Day 7 is done.

One week down. 🫠

358 days remaining.
